    World Cup Day

For our School Games Day this year, Reedness Primary held a whole school World Cup Day. Children were grouped in mixed age, mixed ability teams and each given a country. They played other teams in their group, earning points for teamwork and good sportsmanship as well as goals scored, meaning that the older children really had to take care of the younger ones both on and off the pitch. Team warm ups were led by our Year 5/6 team captains, who were then also in charge of referring the matches and awarding points. Tense semi finals followed the group stages, with Brazil going on to win the final and collect their medals. The kids really enjoyed the day and were able to identify what they had done well for their team, and what they could improve on in our next intra-school event.

Year 5/6 enjoyed taking part in the Rounders competition. We tried to improve as we went through each game, and worked well as a team throughout.
