Level 1 Primary
The intra-school competition formats for primary schools are designed as competitive challenges leading to a recognisable competition in that sport, helping pupils to learn the skills of the game - and how to win and lose.
Level 1 Secondary
The intra-school competition formats for secondary schools are traditional, modified and alternative formats of sports to appeal to all young people. These will help schools decide on how they want to take part in sports in the School Games.
Level 2 / Level 3
The inter-school competition formats for both primary and secondary schools contain priority competition formats and additional information to help your school to take part. Also sign posts information on other school-age competitions.
NGBs and the sports formats
The National Governing Bodies have worked to ensure that the formats for the School Games contribute to this transition to community sport, and ensure that young people have a similar experience in clubs as they have in school.
Register for the School Games
Has your school registered yet? The School Games is a celebration of competitive sport that will involve all young people in years 3 to 13, of all abilities and backgrounds. Don’t miss out on your school being involved. Registration is open for schools in England.
