Best of the Blogs – click here to view all of the May winners

As many of you will know by now, we currently run a ‘Blog of the Week’ competition, with results being announced via our social media accounts – including our Twitter page, which can be followed @YourSchoolGames. Here, we take a look at our latest winners for the month of May.

In this monthly series we are offering the winning schools the opportunity to have their blogs displayed on the School Games home page. In addition, we will be recognising the pupils, schools and SGOs who have enjoyed the most success during a given period – in this case, for Monday 01 May – Friday 26 May 2017.

Blog of the Week: Monday 01 May – Friday 05 May

Congratulations to our winner – Helme CofE VA Junior School

Article Preview: “After coming second in the last round, we were given the chance to compete in the PSP Kirklees Mixed Football Competition on Wednesday evening. The team had practiced hard this week and were extremely optimistic about their chances. However, things didn’t go quite to plan; but that didn’t worry this amazing set of Helme athletes, who showed courage and determination by the bucket load; their support for each other, both on and off the pitch was inspirational.”

Blog of the Week: Monday 08 May – Friday 12 May

Congratulations to our winner – Ab Kettleby Community Primary

Article Preview: “Today for the first time Mrs Brown did some athletics with class 2. The first thing we did was to go outside and sit on the mats. Once Mrs Brown was ready, we had to go and sit on the bench. She got a tape measure and put it by the side of the mat. The first thing we had to do was the standing jump. So we all got in a line, which was register order. We had to do a 2 footed jump from a standing position. The two people who got their pictures taken were Will and Isaac H for doing the longest jump.”

Blog of the Week: Monday 15 May – Friday 19 May

Congratulations to our winner – Broadheath CofE Primary

Article Preview: “Our Year 5 Sports leaders have been very active, helping to run Tri Golf in Class 4 and 5. They did such a good job preparing some pupils they narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Level 3 competition. One of the teams won the competition for the most Skills for Life points, so well done leaders. Class 4 and 5 teachers were thoroughly impressed with the professional level of leadership of these pupils. They want them in every lesson. In fact, 9 of the leaders have even worked in maths classes suing their leadership skills learnt in PE.”
