Best of the Blogs – click here to view all of the June winners

As many of you will know by now, we currently run a ‘Blog of the Week’ competition, with results being announced via our social media accounts – including our Twitter page, which can be followed @YourSchoolGames. Here, we take a look at our latest winners for the month of June.

In this monthly series we are offering the winning schools the opportunity to have their blogs displayed on the School Games home page. In addition, we will be recognising the pupils, schools and SGOs who have enjoyed the most success during a given period – in this case, for Monday 05 June – Friday 30 June.

Blog of the Week: Monday 05 June – Friday 09 June

Congratulations to our winner – Greenside Primary

Article Preview: “After an incredible achievement in winning the Danone Nations cup England North competition via a nervy penalty shootout the girls were officially the best primary school girls’ team in the North of England. That was a brilliant accomplishment in itself but the girls were given an amazing opportunity to be crowned the national champions at the BET365 stadium, home of Premier League’s Stoke City.”

Blog of the Week: Monday 19 June – Friday 23 June

Congratulations to our winner – Corpus Christi Catholic Primary School

Article Preview: “It has been an amazing half term for our Cricket Teams! The journey for our year 6 Boy’s and Girl’s teams began at the Kingston Borough Sports Partnerships tournaments. Both teams managed to reach the finals of these competitions, which meant qualification to represent Kingston at the London Youth Games. On Tuesday 20th June, our girls travelled to Old Actonian’s Cricket Club to compete in the Year 5/6 Girls tournament. It was a very hot day and a long journey on the train but once we had arrived the team were raring to go! The girls played brilliantly to win their first game comfortably and took this momentum into their second group game, winning again with a great batting performance.”

Blog of the Week: Monday 26 June – Friday 30 June

Congratulations to our winner – Thurcroft Junior Academy

Article Preview: “For 2017’s sports day, we decided to try something a little different. As teaching staff we understand that not everyone’s favourite subject is PE. However, as it is part of the national curriculum, everyone has to take part in a minimum of 2 hours per week. Therefore, we had the idea of doing a whole day of sports related actives. This would consist of some classroom based activities in the morning where children could earn points for their house and then the traditional sports day in the afternoon.”
