Ab Kettleby World Cup Event

World Cup Football at Ab Kettleby

On 4th July 2018, Years 3/4/5/6 took part in a mini World Cup. We were split into 6 teams: England, Croatia, Brazil, Belgium, France and Russia. 

Next these teams were split up into two groups, France, Brazil and England then Belgium, Russia and Croatia. The first match was France v England and England won. The other match that was going on at the same time was Croatia v Belgium and Belgium won. Next France played Brazil and Brazil won. The other match going on was Croatia v Russia and Russia won. Each match lasted 5 minutes for a start. 

Next were the semi-finals and Russia played England, it was a good game and everyone was cheering for England, unfortunately for England, Russia scored in the last minute. Brazil played Belgium in the other semi-final with Belgium winning. So it was a Russia v Belgium final. The crowd went wild when Milo scored for Belgium, there was end to end football and Milo scored again. Russia started to put some good passes together and Freddy scored a hat trick, final scored 3-2 to Russia. Croatia and France played a match to work out who came 5th and 6th.

The final scores were: 

1st Russia 

2nd Belgium

 3rd England 

4th Brazil

 5th Croatia 

6th France

I really enjoyed the mini World Cup despite not being a football fan.
