Tone-up-Tuesday- Cricket
This week at ‘Work it Weekly’ ‘Tone up Tuesday’ we did cricket with Pete. For our warm up we did a number of activities. Firstly we put the ball on the floor and clapped our hands 5 times, on the next activity we put a ball around our head 5 times. Thirdly we passed a ball around our legs 5 times, in a figure of 8. After the warm up we did a cone game, when Pete said wait we ran to the middle line of cones and when he said yes we ran to the yellow cones, when he said no we had to return back to the line we were at before. We then got into partners and practiced throwing and catching a tennis ball to each other. We played a game where we threw the ball to each other, if we caught it we took a step back and the aim was to see how far we could get apart from each other. If we dropped the ball we had to go back to the starting position again. Pete showed us how to hold our hands, he called it ‘safe hands’, to ensure that we caught the ball. Finally we did a relay where we had to run and catch the ball in teams.
Annie’s favourite bit was the throwing and catching game, she managed to get very far apart from her partner.
Isaac’s favourite bit was the relay race at the end, because he managed to beat his score from last time.
