Year 5/6 Tennis Competition
Year 5/6 Tennis Competition at Melton Mowbray Tennis Club
On Tuesday 30th April, some of the year fives Alice, Jordan, Milo and Emma went to a tennis tournament at Melton Mowbray Tennis Club. We all played 2 games (we should have played more but Brownlow didn’t turn up). The other schools were St Francis they had 3 different teams, Bottesford and Swallowdale who had 2 teams.
The first match Jordan played in was against St Francis and he won 6-2. The next match Milo lost against St Francis by 17 points. In the next match Alice played against Robbie from St Francis and Robbie won. Emma was next and played against Molly again from St Francis. After that it was Jordan against Lewis from Swallowdale, but Jordan lost by 6 points. Alice played against Daisy and the score was 17-4 to Daisy. Emma played a good match against Harriet and drew.
Di and Ryan from Melton Tennis Club ran the competition with help from the sports leaders from John Ferneley College who were brilliant and gave us a lot of encouragement. We came 3rd in our group with Bottesford winning the competition and Swallowdale winning the Spirit of the Games award.
We enjoyed all the matches and making new friends.
