Girls Football Team Just Miss Out On Medals

The KS2 girls football team just missed out on a medal after losing their semi-final at the Sport Elevation Competition on penalties.

Earlier in the day they had competed in two pools and come away as winners in 1 game and drawn 2 others. In their first competition together as a school team (most had played together for Ackworth Juniors) they played really well.

The event was held at Sheffield FC, the oldest football club in the country.

After the group games the girls played a quarter final which they won 1-0 and then drew their semi-final 0-0. As a result the competition went to penalties with the team narrowly missing out on a medal.
