Active Travel

Ms Murray, 1 Dec 2020

AJA have been taking part in the WOW Active Travel initiative. This encourages children to actively travel to school either by foot, bike, scooter or park and stride.

We entered the 'Walk of Fame' competition  in the first 2 weeks of October and out of 30 schools in the Sheffield City Region we came 3rd!

Feed back has just been received for the schools active travel rates for this first few months. This is for the period 30/9/20 - 25/11/20 (Oct-Nov).

Our active travel rate baseline was 46.67% and is already now at 79.29% (an increase of 69.9%).

This is an absolutely fantastic increase and a very impressive figure now. This is also the biggest increase of all  schools in South Yorks. 🙂

Without the parents, children and teachers getting onboard with this initiative this wouldnt be possible. So thankyou.
