Quadkids and orienteering success!

Summer 1 update!

Huge congratulations to our year 5/6 quadkids team who ran, threw and jumped their way to victory at the Bexley championships at Erith Stadium last week. In beating 20 other schools, Daniel, Madeleine, Tayan, Abigail, Jake, Alice, David and Charlene will now represent the borough of Bexley at the London Youth Games at Crystal Palace athletics stadium on July 4th - a huge honour and a fantastic reward for the effort, determination and resilience every one of our children displayed. This will also be the 4th time in 5 years our children have earned this opportunity - truly amazing!

There was further success in the Bexley Orienteering competition at Danson Park, where 30 of our year 6 children successfully located and marked the checkpoints in exemplary fashion; not only winning the morning session to bring home the trophy, but also being the best scoring school after the afternoon session scores has been totalled. This meant we won the overall shield for the first time in 3 years. Fantastic effort by all - they truly deserved their water park celebrations after!

Well done also to our year 5 boys football team, who warmed up for the Bexley U10 tournament with a 5-1 win over Brampton. At the tournament itself they played some fantastic football to top their qualifying group, with wins over Sherwood Park and Upton, before unfortunately missing out on penalties in the quarter finals to Longlands. Kudos to the boys who showed a great deal of promise for next year - well done to Jack M, Kian, Oliver, Jack A, Max To, Charlie, Max Tu, Kelly and Bradley!

There was also time in the very last week of term for our girls cricket team to finish in 3rd place at the Bexley girls cricket event, with 4 wins and just the one very unlucky loss. Very well played to Tilly, Lili-Ann, Fay, Charlene, Alice, Freya, Madeleine and Maddie!
