SGO Area Cross Country 2017

Great time had by all at the Cross Country Qualifier!

The annual St John Fisher School Games Organiser Area’s Primary schools cross country qualifier took place at Batley Girls High School and Batley Sports and Tennis Centre on Tuesday 26th September. We had an incredible number of pupils taking part this year (double the number from ANY previous Year)!! In total over 500 young children from 19 schools in the Batley, Birstall, Dewsbury area participated in 8 races – Yr3 Girls, Yr3 Boys, Yr4 Girls, Yr4 Boys, Yr5 Girls, Yr5 Boys, Yr6 Girls and Yr6 Boys. Schools taking part in this record breaking Year were: Batley Grammar, Batley Parish, Birstall, Bywell, Carlinghow, Field Lane, Healey, Holy Spirit, Mill Lane, Orchard, Park Road, Ravensthorpe, Staincliffe, St Josephs, St Patricks, St Paulinus, St Peters, Westmoor and Windmill.

Our best placed performer was Poppy Henson (Year 4 Girl).

Congratulations to our year 4 girls who won their category, and to the year 6 girls and year 6 boys who were both runners up  in theirs.
