12/01/18 - Y5/6 Essex County Dodgeball Finals

Mr McEwen, 14 Jan 2018

12 Primary School Dodgeball Teams from different parts of Essex qualified for the finals, hosted at the Deanes Secondary School in Benfleet. The afternoon started with all 12 schools playing 3 matches each; the schools with the best results would then qualify for the Super 8's. Spinney started slowly, getting used to the smaller court size and smaller dodge balls, losing their first match against Bournemouth Park Primary 2:0. In the second match another loss but very close, against Birch Primary 2:1. Thankfully, Spinney won their third match against Beckers Green Prmary 2:0, a much better performance. Spinney had made it to the Super 8's, wow, a massive achievement. Spinney played some blistering dodgeball in patches during the Super 8 matches but struggled to keep the momentum going and failed to make the semi-finals. The children all said 'they had an amazing day and getting to the Super 8's was fantastic'. They'll come back stronger next year I'm sure! A big well done to Junior (Sparrowhawks), Cezary (Foxes), Suraj (Foxes), Hayden (Wolves), Sophie (Sparrowhawks), Alfie N. (Adders) and Carmen (Owls).
