Cooks Spinney V St Albans  won 2-0

The first game we played was against the rival team  St Albans who we drew against last time. So  we started with our strongest possible team to try and come away with a win.  The dream came through and this is how it happen.  Alfie ran up the right wing to gain control of the ball after a kick out from our goalkeeper Suraj, he dribbled pass two defenders and kick the ball into the top left corner of the net.  Everyone roared with delight and had little jump in the air.  In the second half Leon scored a cracker of a goal, turning a player and then hitting the top left corner of the net, the keeper had no chance of saving it.

Cooks Spinney V Freshwaters won 3-0

The game against Freshwaters, the formation of the team changed, all the players that were off  in the last game , got a full game in this one.  In the this game we had three new people getting their names on the scores board.  The first to score was Charlie coming on off the bench, he made a big impact on  the game.  Archie and Joey also got themselves on the score board in the second half of the game, securing the win for Cooks Spinney.  Its great to see that we have such a capable strong panel and not relying on one player to get the scores on the board. Five players out of a squad of 10 managed to score a goal so far in this competition.

Cooks Spinney V Little Pardon Draw 1-1

This was our toughest game of the day.  We started off well with a lovely cross from Archie from the left wing, Alfie ran onto it and buried it to the net.  Little Pardon weren't giving up without a fight and came back attacking.  Eventual they broke through our defence and  their striker hit a low and hard shot to Suraj surprise it went in.  His clean slate had been broken and his confidence shook but he regain his composure again.  Alfie our solid full back got a knock on the head and he had to come off in the second half.  Little Pardon tried to use this to their advantage pressing forward to score but Cooks Spinney managed to keep the ball out.

Our team are looking forward to the next round on the 29th March at Harlow Stadium.  Watch this space!
