Crowlees attend the Kirklees cross country final in Huddesfield

Tuesday 9th October 2018

This afternoon 13 children from KS2, who had qualified for this round of the cross country competition, attend the Kirklees final in Huddersfield.

When we arrived, the atmosphere was fantastic; everyone was excitedly waiting to be called for their races.

Arthur was our first competitor in the Year 3 boys' race. He sped away with the pack and finished in an impressive 27th. Next to race were the girls from Year 4 (Poppy, Matilda, Emily, Lauren and Jessica).  All the girls ran extremely well and fought hard to finish in the best position they could. Poppy ran amazingly well and finished in 6th position - wow!

Matthew was next to race in the Year 4 boy's race. He also finished in a fantastic 27th position!

We had a short break after this excitement whilst we waited for the Year 5 races to be run.

Veronica was our individual runner for the Year 6 girls. Again we watched her speed off around the 1500m course, and saw her finish in an incredible 12th place!

Finally, it was the turn of our Year 6 boys. They all ran their absolute best, but admitted that it was a tough course. They places in the late 30s to late 60s and should be extremely proud of their efforts.

Thank you to all our competitors for their hard work and excellent attitudes. Well done!
