Edge Hill v Pennine Way @ Pennine Way – 13th March 2019
Our return fixtures against Pennine Way took place after school today when the Y5 and Y6 football teams from both schools met for the second time.
Edge Hill Fives 4-0 Pennine Way Y6 (Cole, Sonny x2, Max T)
A goal each from Cole and Sonny in the first half set the match up for the Fives. They dominated the match in the second half, scoring two more goals with very little for McKenzie to deal with. Overall, a very good performance by the team.
Edge Hill Sixes 4-1 Pennine Way Y5 (Jack S x2, Max B, Harrison)
Jack put the team in front midway through the first half, but Pennine Way nabbed an equaliser after a bit of sloppy defending failed to clear the ball from the area. However, Max B put the team back in front before the end of the half. The Sixes increased the lead by scoring two more goals in the second period to seal the win.
Edge Hill Fives 4-0 Pennine Way Y5 (Cole, Charlie F x2, Sonny)
Just as in the team’s first match, Cole got the first goal, then Charlie F pounced on the loose ball following a free kick from Zack to score the team’s second. The team’s third goal came from a break resulting in the sole Pennine way defender being outnumbered by 5 to 1. Sonny put the ball in the net. Charlie F got his second to make the score another 4-0 win for the team.
Edge Hill Sixes 1-0 Pennine Way Y6 (Charlie C)
Charlie C got the only goal of the match and it was enough to secure the win for the Sixes. There were a few half chances but the team looked secure in defence the entire match. Well done Sixes for going one better than the last time you faced this team.
