Badminton

Boys:

We think we had a great time at badminton. It was really fun and joyful. It was nice to compete against other people from other schools: Dobcroft and St Maries... I (Hassan) normally play badminton but (Awad) doesn't. It was his first time playing badminton and now he is really into it. We won a few matches and so did everyone else which was great. The court was nice and big. The other people (who we didn't know) were very nice and respectful. They had good sportsmanship. We think we had a remarkably great time.

In the singles 4 of the boys (Alfie, Sandy, Ethan and Hassan) from HBJ made the quarter finals. Alfie Fitzgerald lost in the semi finals to the eventual winner from St. Maries Joe. In the Doubles competition Alfie and Sandy made it to the semi finals.

Girls:

On Saturday the 9th of November 2019, we went to a badminton competition. The singles tournament was great fun and everyone played 5 matches. Although no one got into the quarter finals everyone improved within the the hour just before the actual competition started. To say nobody had played competitive badminton before and we were learning as we played we feel we did an outstanding job in representing Hunters Bar Juniors.

In the doubles competition, Laila and Yvette were partners as well as Natasha and Fancesca and we all worked hard to display good teamwork skills. The Girls Doubles Tournament was also really fun.  Everyone was respectful and talented. The winning team was Sheffield Girls High. We didn't bring any silverwear back but we came back with more knowledge of badminton.
