Yorkshire and Humberside Schools Orienteering Championships
Sunday 23rd May 2021, Fixby & Bradley woods (East Pennine Orienteering Club-EPOC)
On Sunday 23rd May 2021, I went to Fixby & Bradley woods (East Pennine Orienteering Club-EPOC) to compete in the Yorkshire and Humberside Schools Orienteering Championships.
When I got there I was feeling exited, but also a bit worried, though I soon calmed down. After getting rid of my nervousness, I prepared myself for the start of my course. Once I set off on my orienteering course I found it quite easy. The course that I did was a White Course (a white course is the easiest course because it is all on paths). I finished the course and went back home. We couldn't find out our scores straight away so I didn't know how well I'd done, but once at home I looked at the scores and I was very thrilled because not only had I placed in the top three, I won! I placed 1st in the Year Four competition.
I was able to share my success with the rest of the school in a celebration assembly, which was fantastic to do.
