Hurstmere Junior Leadership Academy

Miss Allsop, 2 Feb 2018

Year 6 and 7 Students from 6 Bexley Schools attend the Junior Leadership Academy held at Hurstmere School as part of the School Games Programme.

Hurstmere Junior Leadership Academy

31 students attended the first Junior Leadership Academy (JLA) session at Hurstmere in January. This exciting programme brings together students from KS2 & KS3 to work together to extend their Sports Leadership skills and undertake specific training to enable them to organise sports festivals for other young people. The JLA is attended by students from Hurstmere, Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar, Birkbeck, Burnt Oak Juniors, Dulverton and Holy Trinity Primary. The first session focused on teamwork, leadership skills and qualities and the importance of reflecting on leadership and volunteering experiences in order to improve. Over the next few weeks the group will plan and deliver a Change4Life Festival for year 3/4 primary school children from across Bexley.
