Hurstmere Sports Leaders Host 2 Sports Hall Athletics Heats in One Week

On Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th November Primary Schools from across Bexley came to Hurstmere to compete in the School Games Sports Hall Athletics Heats. The events were well attended with over 180 children participating at Hurstmere over the 2 days. All schools were competing for a place in the School Games Finals that will be held at Hurstmere on Wednesday 15th November.

Year 10 & 11 Sports Leaders welcomed the schools and ensured the participants had time to practice their events before the competition began. Once underway the Hurstmere Sports Leaders conducted themselves in a very professional manner officiating the various field events followed by the track relay races.  During the competitions there were some excellent individual and team performances and some very enthusiastic spectators! Both competitions were close but the overall winners from the Tuesday Heat was Old Bexley Primary and on the Wednesday the winners were Days Lane Primary.

At Hurstmere we are extremely proud of our Sports Leaders who not only give up their own time to support the running of School Games competitons' but always conduct themselves in a professional manner and are fantastic role models to other young people. Well done boys, keep up these excellent standards.
