Jessie Younghusband School show up in large numbers to compete - again!

On Wednesday 21st February, we sent a squad along to compete in the:  

27th annual Corporate and Inter-Schools Road Running Challenge 2018

(Sponsors: Evans Weir Chartered Accountants, Tri iT Sports, The Run Company)

"An evening series of road races held under U.K. Athletics rules"

Over the years, we have had many of our Y5 and Y6 pupils volunteer to head out and run through the streets of Chichester in this annual event. 

  

6.30 p.m. Primary School Boys Race year 6 1400m, (2 laps)

6.40 p.m. Primary School Boys Race year 5.1400m, (2 laps)

6.50 p.m. Primary Schools Girls Race years 5 & 6 1400m (2 laps)

Once the races are run, the results from the Year 5 and Year 6 boys are combined to find the overall race winners.

This year, 16 of our 30 Year 6s turned out to run, and 15 of our 32 Year 5s turned out - all supported by friends and families in this prestigious inter-school event.

All of the children ran hard and did their very best.  One of our Y5 girls came 4th, narrowly beaten by Year 6 girls in her race. She assures us that she will try and beat them next time!
