School Games – Cross Country (30/01/19)

Mr Neaves, 31 Jan 2019

Braving the biting cold wind and threat of snow, 29 of our Y5 and Y6 pupils headed out to Bishop Luffa School to compete in the cross country competition.

School Games – Cross Country (30/01/19)

The children of JYS put on a great show today, as we joined many other children to compete in the School Games Cross Country competition. For us, the real highlight was in the Y5/Y6 girls’ race where Florence was in 2nd place for almost the entire race and stole first just a handful of metres from the finish line!

The official results came in on the 31st: our first three girls finished placings meant that we came second, with Bishop Tufnell winning. The first three boys placed the team 8th.

Individually, Florence was 1st, Millie 5th and Stanley 10th – with all three of these children now invited to compete in the county championships in Brighton a little later in the year!
