Mr Neaves, 8 Nov 2018

We have invested some of our Sports Premium funding in to 8 weeks of Forest Schools for our Y1s.

Y1 Forest Schools (06/11/18)

Our Y1s have really enjoyed their Forest Schools experience this term. Here is a brief review for the morning on the 6th November. After a briefing to reinforce expectations for the walk to Brandy Hole Copse, we walked down there and sat on the logs that would surround the camp fire. We began by defining the area that we would be working in and making sure everyone knew where the boundaries were. A game of “Hide and Sense” followed, before the children used clay and natural resources to make their own woodland creatures – which they then found homes and burrows for! After some free time to make dens and explore, the children helped to make a fire and some toffee apples that were cooked in an iron pot – and then devoured with gusto!

At all times, the children were well-behaved, safe and having fun – almost as much fun as the adults!!
