Getting the school year off to an exciting start.

Year 5 Camp

What an exciting start to the school year! From Wednesday 27th September until Friday 29th, our entire Year 5 class erected tents and slept on the school field.

As part of our "Invaders" topic, we pitched tents, spent the Wednesday doing Forest Schools (making fire, Roman inspired bread, simple weapons, Roman gods out of beeswax, making dens etc). The evening consisted of team building challenges.

Thursday saw us walking the 2 miles to Fishbourne Roman Palace where we were soldiers for the day. We did a treasure hunt on the walk back, before our evening camp fire.

Friday, and after a cooked breakfast, we headed off in to Chichester for a 2 hour walk with our tame historian to learn more about the Roman occupation of our city. Then it was back to school to pack up and head home.
