Two exciting fixtures from our U9 girls' teams

Our younger teams are developing some great skills

U9As v Town Close       Score:1-1 LPS@TH got off to a strong start, attacking from the whistle. Some great passing and movement from Lois C, who put the ball through to Sophia B, gave us the lead after just a few minutes. Both teams created chances but awesome saves from Millie E denied Town Close a goal before half time. After a quick half-time talk, the LPS@TH girls put the pressure on again. Susannah H created space wide which gave our team chances, forcing the Town Close keeper to make some saves and their defence to work hard. Town Close battled hard and again gave Millie lots to do as well as defenders Connie C and Olivia G. The girls all worked well but as the final whistle blew Town Close managed to slip one past our well-deserved, player-of-the-match Millie E.

Team: Lois C, Sophie B, Susannah H, Freya S, Connie C, Olivia G, Millie E (GK)

U9B v Town Close     Score: 1-1 Our U9Bs had a great game of hockey against Town Close and showed how far they have some this season. We were strong in the tackle from the start and every member of our team worked tirelessly on the pitch, but a momentary lapse of concentration led to a Town Close goal. However, our girls came out fighting in the second half, with Sky H and Olivia B working well in defence, and Liella F made some excellent saves. Evie B-S was all over the pitch and won the ball well to put Mary L through on goal to slot home our equaliser. This gave us more confidence but we were unable to score a second and a 1-1 draw was a fair result. Very well done, girls – let’s keep working on our positioning and keeping possession to improve even further.

Team: Liella F, Evie B-S, Sophie M, Nicole M, Mary L, Oivia B, Sky H, Daisy L
