Y3 Basketball Festival

6 boys from Y3 and 6 girls from Y3 represented Linthorpe today in the Middlesbrough SGO Y3 Basketball Festival.

Y3 Basketball Festival

Today, 12 children from Linthorpe participated in the Middlesbrough School Games Y3 Basketball Festival. The group of children was made up of 6 boys and 6 girls. The aim of the festival was simple, have fun, learn new skills and make new friends. With the event being a festival, it was non competitive.

The festival was held inside the Sports Hall at Everyone Active's Eston Leisure Centre. Over 100 children were there from 6 schools. The children absolutely loved the festival. For most of them, it was their first opportunity to mix with children from other schools, due to the Covid pandemic.

At this festival, the Sports Leaders were from Unity City Academy. They did a fantastic job of running the coaching sessions on the morning, then refereeing the games on the afternoon. All the leaders had a great manner and rapport with the children and every child gave 100% in ever activity.

It filled us with great pride seeing 3 of out children awarded medals for their hard work and effort by the Sports Leaders, which they were naturally thrilled about. We cannot wait for the next festival!
