Girls Five a side Football: National Finals

Tom Carmichael, 8 Mar 2019

Having stormed through the Middlesbrough event as well as winning the Northern finals, Macmillan's U12 girls team arrived at Birmingham on Monday for the National 5 a side Finals

After a miraculous run spanning three months Miss Parkinson's team had done the whole school proud in reaching this stage. The incredible ability of the girls combined with determination and team work provided ammunition for results. This was evident as the team made it out of the groups and through the knockout stages. They were eventually knocked out in the semi final stage of the competition. They did however manage to win the third vs fourth place play off to come home with a bronze medal. The team which eventually went on to win had been coched by England and  UEFA liscenced coaches. With this in mind, the third place finish for the team was remarkable and thier successes across the competion have been admired by those back home.
