Northbury Girls fell to a 2-1 narrow defeat against current Champions and Monteagle shield holders Henry Green in the semi-final.

Northbury Girls come agonisingly close to making the Monteagle shield final!

Northbury Girls rose to the challenge of playing the Monteagle shield holders making it a fierce battle in the first half. Rosalie and Jazlyn working hard in the middle of the pitch with Leighana sweeping up anything that came past them. Hannah with some excellent handling and kicking and Lily-Mae with some excellent work-rate and hold up play. Lily-Mae had a shot that looked to be going over the line but Henry Green keeper Mei scrambled it into her hands and it was no goal.  With no real clear chances other than that in the first half for either team honours were even at 0-0.

Northbury had to make a change at half-time due to tired legs and not long after the first half Henry Green took the lead from a sweet strike from distance from district player Ellie-Mai after the Northbury midfield switched off. Henry Green then doubled their lead through district player Miquellah and Northbury looked down and out. However, Northbury created some goal mouth scrambles where the champions looked nervy. This eventually lead to Lily-Mae pulling one back for Northbury to make it 2-1 and set up a tense finish. Northbury couldn't find the equalising goal and the game finished 2-1.

Northbury have done amazingly to contest with current holders but Henry Green too strong this time round.

Good luck to Henry Green in the final!
