Golden mile update and Challenge

The Golden mile is currently flying at Oaklands. The children are relishing the challenge and are really motivated to beat their targets. 

The marathon challenge set new heights for the GM, the school managed to run almost 400 miles during that week. That is over double of the amount normally achieved during a week!

More and more children by the day are completing the 10 mile mark; some are even hitting the 20 mile mark or exceeding it. 

- Abdul (Yr 5) has just completed 30 miles by himself, a fantastic achievement!

RUN TO RUSSIA

The Fifa World Cup is now only 6 weeks away! So today I set the school a new challenge. 

Can Oaklands run to Russia in time for Englands' first game? 

Moscow is 1900 miles away from Yeovil, every week I will update the school in assembly to let them know how far they have run and where in the world they are. 

The challenge has been set, now it's time to start the journey.
