Rounders match vs East Coker
Thursday 3rd May - Friendly Rounders match
On Thursday Oaklands welcomed East Coker primary school to play the first competitive rounders game of the year.
The sun was shining perfect for a thrilling game of rounders.
Game 1 saw both teams get off to a great start, lots of big hits and great catches.
- Final score; Oaklands 6.5 runs - East Coker 7 runs
Game 2 started with a couple missed chances from Oaklands and some great fielding from East Coker. Oaklands left it late for the comeback, but narrowly missed out again.
- Final Score; Oaklands 7 runs - East Coker 7.5 runs
Game 3 was Oaklands time for revenge. They started strong catching 4 players out in the first inning and limiting the others to only a half rounder. Batting was no different, every player managed to hit the ball and make it back to keep the score building.
-Final Score; Oaklands 9 runs - East Coker 4.5 runs
Overall score; Oaklands 22.5 runs - East Coker 19 runs
It was a fantastic afternoon and the children showed great sportsmanship.
