KS2 Dance Festival

On Friday 14th December 2018, children from Year 4, 5 and 6 represented our school in a KS2 Dance Festival. Since mid-November the dance squad have been busy learning routines and practising movements in the form of lunchtime and after-school training sessions. Team choreographer (Mr Keady) chose and developed a mix to three upbeat songs. The songs for the performance titled ‘Feelin’ Good’ were: ‘I Gotta A Feeling’ by The Black Eyed Peas; ‘Shotgun’ by George Ezra and ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ by Galantis.

The children had lots of fun leading up to the event using great imagination to create their own sequences as well as learning given steps. The festival, which took place in the Atrium Theatre at Chessington School, had a total of ten schools participating which included: Knollmead, Green Lane and St Agatha’s.

The squad did fantastically. All pupils danced with a smile on their face and wonderfully executed their routines for all three of the songs. I was so proud of how well the squad performed. The team displayed superb enthusiasm and team-spirit during the day of the event. See below for a lovely team photo.

I would like to extend my thanks to parents and carers of the participating pupils in terms of the support that they have given in the weeks leading up to and on the day of the event. Additionally, many thanks to Miss O’Mara who provided additional support on the day of the event. Finally, please visit the sports news section on the school website to view a wide range of photographs of the squad from the event.
