Year 5 Boys' Football
Read here to find out about how the Year 5 boys got on, in what was the first inter-school football event that they have participated in.
On Tuesday 5th March 2019, seven Year 5 Boys took part in a football competition on the astro-turf pitches on Chessington School. The event comprised of a series of 8-minute matches where O.L.I played against six other schools which included: St Agatha’s, St John’s, St Joseph’s, Christ Church Surbiton, Christ Church New Malden and Burlington.
The team scored a number of goals in our early encounters. In all matches, each team member tried their best. This was definitely shown by the amount of running that they completed going from match to match. Despite not managing a victory, the boys displayed a great team-ethic and were supportive of each other throughout the event. Additionally, I was particularly impressed with the improvement of the team’s passing accuracy during the course of the event.
I would like to congratulate to the team on representing the school. Finally, I would like to extend my thanks to parents and carers for providing transport to the venue. In addition, it was great to have support at the venue.
