Year 5/6 Football Competition

Mr Storey & Mr Lovatt, 27 Sep 2017

Park End Primary School participated in the Middlesbrough Primary School's Sport's Partnership Football Competition on Wednesday 20th September.

For the morning games, the boys were put in a tough group which consisted of Kader, Berwick Hills, Green Lane and Newham Bridge. We drew 2 and lost 2 however the boys played some outstanding football and Mr Storey was very pleased with how the boys conducted themselves.  The girls were in a group that consisted of Acklam Whin, Breckon Hill, Kader and St Josephs. The girls won 1, drew 2 and lost 1, which sent them into the championship group for the afternoon. Mr Lovatt was extremely happy and all the girls were looking forward to the challenge for the afternoon.

For the afternoon games, the boys were drawn into a group that had Archibald, Rosewood, St Aplhonsus and Breckon Hill. We won 3 and drew 1. The boys defended magnificently not conceding a goal and scored some great team goals. We eventually got into the final against Archibald, which we unfortunately lost on penalties.  The girls knew it was going to be very tough on the afternoon as they were up against some very good teams. The group consisted of Berwick Hills, Kader, St Edwards, Corprus Christi and Abingdon. We drew 3 and lost 2 which unfortunately knocked the girls out.

Both teams showed fantastic team work all day and all pupils represented the school in a outstanding manor. Well done to everyone involved!
