On Tuesday 14th June 2022 we visited Fylde RUFC to take part in the rugby competition.

Wyre and Fylde Tag Rugby District Finals

On Tuesday 14th June 2022, Breck entered a tag rugby tournament with a team of 8 boys and  4 girls. The players were: Charlie, Oliver, Jake, Nathan, Fletcher, George, Jack, Joseph, Grace, Gabriella, Cloe and Ellena.

They played 4 group stage matches winning the first 3 and drawing the last group match 4-4. Then Breck had lunch and had a rest to be ready for the knockout stages. After coming in the top 2, Breck got a free win to go to the round of 16 where they won 4-0 against AKS team 3. Then they played Ribby with Rey and beat them 5-3 to go into the semi-finals. In the semi-finals they played Hayhouse and lost 5-4 due to a controversial try. After getting knocked out we thought we were going home but somebody came and told us we were playing in a 3rd place play off against the team they drew to in the group stage. Quickly the players got the tags on and got ready for the match. After a tight 7 minutes it was 4-3 to Breck. After a dodgy pass, Charlie made a heroic catch which meant we didn't have to go to extra time. They arrived back at school with some new bronze medals. All of the year 5s are very determined to go and win it next year.
