Bassetlaw School Tri Golf Festival
Yesterday we all went to Kilton to the golf club to play in a competition.
For the past 6 weeks I have been going to the Tri Golf after school club on a Wednesday night. I didn’t k ow what to expect as I had never done it before. Well as it turned out I really liked going and actually got in to it too. My Dad said he would take me to a real golf club and see if I can have a lesson now because this is the first time I have really liked a sport thus much.
When we go to the club there are lots of different games set up by Mr Makeman and Mrs P. We have to use 2 type of club and the blue one which I call a chipper is my favourite. If you get it under the ball then the ball goes up in the air. Only thing is that sometimes I hit it so hard it goes flying. Then there is the red stick which is a putter. I think this is a bit like a ho key stick and the end I’d smaller. This is quite hard to get right because I always hit it to hard or not hard enough and it hardly moves at all. When we do all the different games we use both clubs. Sometimes we use both on one activity , if you get the ball over the cones with the chipper then you have to putt it into a half of a hoop. We get points for each thing.
yezterday we went to a competition and we did a lot of the games we have been practising but the sports leaders did it a bit different from school. It didn’t matter because we soon understood the new way and we moved to all the different games. We got given points like we dId at school. There were other schools there and Luke and Jacobs Mum came to watch us as well , that was nice of her to come. After we had done all the different activities we all sat and found out how we had done. We were 5th and Luke got a medal for good sports man. It was a nice afternoon and I hope I get to go again.
