Orienteering practice

Sports Crew, 8 May 2018

We have been invited to take part in some sessions at Ranby House so we can get used to the equipment .

Orienteering practice

Tonight quite a while  after school had finished we were invited to take part in a session of orienteering at Ran y House School. Mr Parkinson met us all and showed us how To hold a map and the importance of making sure that we always keep the map the correct way round.

We then did a mini course which was to navigate through cones and add up along the way.

That was pretty easy, but next we did a satellite course. This means I run to a point and then my partner runs to a point. We keep going till we have a punch mark from every marker. This was harder work and afterwards we were both shattered, but it was also good fun. At one marker Travis was too small to reach and I laughed because it was so funny 😂 watching him jump up and down to try to punch the sheet of paper. He knows I am his friend and I wasn’t being mean, but it was very very funny.

Ladt thing we did Was we had to go to any 6 points we wanted and in any order .  Johnny and Bailey won , they were amazing and very quick.

Next week when we go we are using some special beeper things on our fingers. I can’t wait 😊
