Year 5 and 6 Mixed Football Competition
Sringfield attended the first round of the Primary Advantage Football League at Gainsborough Primary School. The afternoon saw over 100 children take part in 21 matches, scoring a total of 43 goals. All the children enjoyed the event and displayed fantastic sportsmanship. We are looking forward to the next round of the league.
All children in year 5 and year 6 got the opportunity to try out for the Springfield football teams. They all were given 5 chances to show off what they could do. At the end of the week a decision was made and all children were notified whether they made the team or not.
On the day the children travelled to Gainsborough Primary school and played 3 games each. Year 5 drew their first game and lost the other 2. Year 6 won all three games. After the competition we also found out that Leo scored the most goals, making him top goal scorer for the whole league. He managed to score 5 incredible goals.
Currently, the year 5 team are in 12th place (out of 14) and the year 6 team are in 2nd place.
