KS2 Ten Pin Bowling

Enjoyment for the Ten Pin Bowling Team

Mrs Thompson chose 10 year 5/6 children to represent the school. The children were all very excited and although alittle wary about how the event would run they had nothing to fear as an evening of fun, exciting and very competitive bowling lay ahead. 28 teams from Newbury and Thatcham invaded the SuperBowl at Thatcham.

Each team played 3 games in total with 10 frames per game. Each of the children bowling as a team and their total score from the games would be added together to give a cumulative total score.

The girls’ team played Enbourne, Chaddleworth&Shefford and Burghclere. Lucie and Emma managed to get a spare during one of their bowls. Many of the girls scored 9 pins in their matches: Grace, Emma, Mia, Millie and Lucie. The girls, won one game and lost 2 games accumulating a total score of 249. The boys, team played Hermitage, Enbourne and Chaddleworth&Shefford. Ben was lucky enough to get a strike in one of his games. Both Connor and Yash had a spare and everyone managed during the games to score 9 pins: Yash, Ben, Josh, Luke and Connor. They scored a total of 255 points.

Both teams produced some great bowling and although they didn’t finish in the top 6 teams to receive a medal they had enjoyed the event encouraging each other and working well as a team.

The boys team finished 14th and the girls team finished 16th.

Well done to all the children who represented the school fantastically: Ben Sleigh, Josh McMillan, Yash Pingale, Luke Johnson, Connor Roles, Emma Whitford, Grace Millard, Mia Curran, Millie Jury and Lucie Hands.
