Runners-Up Indoor Athletics
Spurcroft competed against 22 other teams at the Indoor Athletics event taking part in various field and track events. An exciting morning of athletics with all the children achieving success at their individual events. Spurcroft had finsihed in 2nd place and go through to the Regional Finals in February.

On Saturday 18th November, 12 children represented Spurcroft School at the Indoor Athletic Championships held at Park House Secondary School. In total there were 23 school teams competing. Each child competed in up to 4 events from: sprints, various relays, standing long jump, standing triple jump, javelin, vertical jump, speed bounce and ball throw. What a fantastic morning - the children all performing to the best of their abilities and excelling in many events with some personal best records. They all showed fantastic support for their team mates and represented the school with pride and determination to be the best – a great atmosphere.
The final results were in and Spurcroft had achieved the silver trophies with a super score of 360 points. All the children were presented with a lovely trophy. As a result of finishing 2nd the school are through to the Regional Finals on Friday 23rd February next year so a superb achievement.
Congratulations to all the team who had worked extremely hard during the run up to the event and on the day –Connor Joyce, Drew Radbourne, Archie Goode, Alex Davey, Edward Cain, Callum Little, Catherine Jones, Teagan Kell, Maddy Baker, Sophie Schofield, Evie Massey and Jess Schofield.
A special mention for those children who achieved a top 3 individual place out of 23 places:
1st places were Connor, Drew, Catherine and Teagan in 4x1 lap track race, Drew in speed bounce, Connor in triple jump and Catherine in triple jump
2nd places were: Maddy in speed bounce, Teagan in long jump, Sophie in ball throw and Evie in javelin.
3rd places were: Connor & Catherine in 1x1 lap, Teagan in vertical jump.
Thank you to Gary Brooker for training the team and supporting them on the day. Thank you to all parents who came to watch this was appreciated and very tense at times.
