Year 3/4 Girls Indoor Football tournament

Mrs Thompson, 24 Apr 2018

The girls took part in the Indoor Football tournament and for some of them it was their first time playing indoors. A great success as we reached the finals of the event.

Year 3/4 Girls Indoor Football tournament

GIRLS Indoor 5-a-side football tournament

The Girls Indoor 5 a-side football tournament gave Mrs Airy her chance to make her debut at a sports event. There were only 3 schools (Spurcroft, St Gabriels and Burghfield St Marys) that had turned up and so the girls played everyone twice. The girls struggled at first to use the walls to play the ball but all of them worked extrenmely hard and played superb and never gave up. We gained confidence and determination as the afternoon continued.

We played St Gabs first and won 1-0 with a great goal from Bo, then faced Burghfield and drew 1-1 with a goal from Sophia. Our 2nd time against St Gabs and the girls were more confident and won 4-0:  2 goals each from Lola and Bailey. Then the final game we played Burghfield and another super win 4-0: golas form Lola, Bo, Bailey and Sophia.

During the games GK was superb from Lola.

The results were in and Spurcroft had qualified for the finals – congratulations.

Well done to the girls who represented the school: Bo Deas, Sophia Billington, Bailey Billington, Lola Stokesberry, Zoe Frewing and Phoebe Massey.
