Athletics Competition Year 5 and 6

This year at Greenford high school we got picked to compete against other schools. It took place on the 18th of January 2018. We travelled by bus and were very excited about it. Some of us were a little nervous too.

We had to complete activities to get points that will add up to our final score. We had to do Javelin, speed jumps, long jumps, triple jumps, chest throws which were the 'field events'. Then we had races and some relays.  We struggled mostly with the field events but we were very good are at the races. We faced many more schools who we beat but lost some too.

We ran a few of races and we won most of the obstacle races. Almost every school split into two groups. Group A and B. Group A was 4th place which was the year 6 group. Group B was 3rd place which was the year 5 group. We also were 12 points away from the finals. 

The schools were very competitive but we didn’t let that get in our way. We did our best and were very proud of it.
