tennis competition

We (year 5) were so pumped whilst walking to the tennis tournament. As we arrived in Pits hanger Lane we practiced our rallies and we also practiced our tactics and all our disadvantages. We also saw other teams practicing and they were really good especially Christ Our Saviour. Once every team had arrived the coaches discussed what we are allowed to do and what we aren’t. Then we talked about the teams for the day. Because a team wasn’t here St John Fisher & Vicars Green had a mix up which meant we played for as a mixed team together so that our subs got to play full matches too. We started the matches but when depression hit us all because we all lost the match we were played. We were sad but when the second match had come we worked twice as hard and we all won our second match we played. We were so happy and we celebrated so much. As part of the match both contestants shook hands as the match had finished. Our matches were hard but we played well for our last few matches. Kevin and Nadia had to play their own team mate on the third last match. As the tournament continued, we worked so hard to play our last few matches. Everyone's last match was really intense so we all tried our best to win that match we played. We all won, lost and drew the matches we played. As the tournament was finishing, the main referee had announced the scores of all the teams and what places they had come. He had called out the scores and then came to the places and medals. Then he called out that St John Fisher and Down Manor ( the team that Kevin & Nadia played for ) had come third place out of 24 teams. YAY!!! Then we went back walking to school celebrating after along tournament.
