Year 6 Sportshall Athletics

It was the first time we had competed in this event and we loved it.

On Tuesday 7th November 2017, our year 6 class attended a athletics competition. This included a variety of field and track events such as : long jump, triple jump, speed bounce, sprints, chest push and vertical jump.

We started the day with the boys sprint relay. With this event some of our boys did extremelly well and were so close to getting a win, but were pleased with a second place. With our hopes high for the day we did very well in the boy's events including an exciting obstacle race. 

Then it was the turn of the girls. The girls competed against fierce rivals and track events went very well. The field events were set to start and the girl's couldn't wait. Some of the boys went to encourage the girls whilst the rest of us carried on competing in our events. The long and triple jump were particularly challenging and we all enjoyed the speed bounce!

At the end of the day we were tired but pleased with what we had achieved. We really enjoyed competing and meet children from other schools.

Great news when we find out we came 3rd, we showed great team spirit and tried our best.
