Cross Country Race

Yasmine, 16 Oct 2017

On Monday 16th October there was a cross country race at Stebbing Primary School.

At around 3:25 the first person arrived, so Gracie, Molly and I had to direct all the people up to the astro Where everyone was meeting. At about 3:55 we all gathered at the astro, Mr L and Jackie started to explain the rules. After that, the first race was off and Emily was the hare (the hare means that all the children in the race have to follow Emily but they can over take  her if they know where to go). They all ran a great race, well done year 1 and 2! Next up was the year 3s race. The year 3, 4, 5 and 6 all race out off school . Well done to Rebe who came 1st girl in that race. Moving on to year 4s race, they ran very fast. Well done to Rafwe who came 2nd girl. Now it was year 5s race, obviously Rufus came 1st boy and Violet came 1st girl. Moving on to our race, the year 6 race, we all lined up nervously placing our feet up to the  line and 3, 2, 1, GO! we all run, about half way through there was a child who came 2nd boy and he shouted at me saying  you snooze you loose  and I was in front off him so I don't know who he was talking  to  but while I was running up beside him he pushes me out the but I sprint in front off him. Soon I am at the finish line in front off that boy.  A few seconds later Romily and Gracie run to the finish line but Romily s contact  lens was blurry so she couldn't see very well. I would like to give a great big round off applause to Mr L for being a great host and to all the children that came to this event. WELL done!
