Cross Country Race Report

Mia Arnett, 1 Nov 2017

It was a cold drizzly Monday evening at Stebbing primary school, where we were hosting a 2mile cross country race against: - Bentfield Primary School - St Marys Primary School - Great Dunmow Primary School

I stood at the start line and all I could hear was my heart beating so loud I could barely hear anything else. I didn’t even know how many people were standing next to me I was so determined. All of a sudden, there was a loud shrill In my ear. It took a while for me to realise it was Mr. Le Mesurier blowing the start whistle.

Before I knew it everybody was in front of me heading for the gate. Only there was a problem. I HAD A STITCH!!!! How was I going to get through this ????

With all the energy I could muster I ran and ran. I was trying to overtake Lola Mayne although the path was too narrow so I stayed behind her the whole time ….. until I started to see the gates to Stebbing. As soon as I saw them I started sprinting as fast as I could, with my painful stitch until I found myself on the floor just past the finish line.

I MADE IT! I ACTUALLY MADE IT AND I DID NOT STOP!

What Fun !!!
