Phoenix Flames experiences of the Boccia tournament on the 7th of December 2017

England Boccia Competition

Thursday 7th of December the Phoenix Flames set off for Cambridge regional college to take part in the first Boccia Competition of the year!

Due to staffing, traffic and my poor navigational skills we were running late and arrived a little late and missed our first game! Fortunately the organizing party were very understanding and reorganized our match so that we didn't lose any points!

Our first match was against the Gretton A team! after three tough frames, we sadly lost 7-1. the team however were not phased and moved quickly into our next game.

Our second game was against Granta 2. Another tough game against a clearly experienced team. All of the students were very sporting and played a good game, unfortunately we lost again, 2-5

our third game, our last opportunity to score some pints was against, Impington VC 2. This match was a far more even game with an opportunity for us to win! It was a hard fought game by both sides and it came to an end with a tie! 2-2! In the tie breaker each team captain got one more throw with the closest winning the game. Our team were quickly heart broken by their team captains masterful performance stealing the win from our grasp! the end score being 3-2!

Overall the Phoenix Flames had a great time and were very well looked after throughout. We look forward to our next chance to play and we hope to score better in the future having learnt from this experience!
