Bronze Ambassador Conference

Oliver Shepherd, 23 Oct 2017

This year's Bronze Ambassador sports leaders attended their conference today, held at Plymouth's Life centre.  Run and organised by PSSP, here the Silver Ambassadors from Plymouth secondaries, provided a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon where our young leaders and potential Bronze Ambassadors were challenged and inspired by their older peers and made new friends along the way.  Thank you to PSSP and all the Silver ambassadors, and a big thank you to Howard (PSSP) for running this event on your birthday!

Bronze Ambassador Conference

Hello Oliver Shepherd here. I have recently taken over the role of sports writer for Wembury Primary's newspaper and I am also lucky enough to be a Bronze Ambassador.

Me and 4 of my friends from year 6  went to a Bronze Ambassador conference which was one of the top highlights of the year so far. While we were there, we first had a video shown to us of what a good Sports Leader is and then followed by a warm up ran by the Silver Ambassadors.

Thirdly,  we and 3 other schools in our group were mixed up into 2 teams and had to race to find the good and bad qualities of a leader and put them into 2 piles [good and bad leaders].

Over the rest of the afternoon, we learnt how to run and organise activities, learnt how to modify games to make sure everyone was included by making them easier and harder.

Lastly, there was an award ceremony in our groups where everyone got a well earned certificate and an individual got a medal - Luckily it was someone from Wembury!

It was a great afternoon and we are already working on our own intra-school competition before Christmas break-Watch this space!

Thanks for reading my first official sports school blog, bye!
