Year 4 Particpation Football Competition

Jamal and Theo, 11 Nov 2022

On Monday, 7th November, a group of Year 4 children were entered into a Year 4 Participation Football Competition at St Bedes.

Year 4 Particpation Football Competition

Our team was Theo K, Theo B, Dexter, Jamal, Noah and Charlie.

In our first match against Little Mead, unfortunately, we were three men down and had to borrow three players from St Bons! We played really well but, sadly, we just couldn’t score and the final score ended 0-0.

In game two, we played St Bons’ second team. Charlie scored the first goal to make it 1-0. Next, Theo K got fouled so he took the free kick – sadly, it just sailed wide. But luckily for us, moments later, Jamal took a shot and banged it into the top bins. Shortly after, Jamal shot again and their goalkeeper healed it into their goal. The game finished 3-0 for us.

In the final group game, we played St Johns’ second team and even though we had quite a lot of shots, their goalkeeper was tough to beat. The game ended 0-0.

Thankfully that was enough… We made it into the semi-finals. Even though we played extremely well, we lost 2-0 to a very good St Bons’ first team.

This meant that we were in the third and fourth place play-off match against St Johns’ second team again! Once again, it was a brutal match but we were finally able to break them down and Charlie scored the match-winning goal in the final moments!

Overall we came third, but we played so well – even though we played with a man down for the whole competition. Well done boys!
