St Ursula's E-ACT Academy
St Ursula’s E-ACT academy is situated in Westbury-On-Trym in a new, purpose built academy surrounded by beautiful grounds. In 2015, Ofsted rated us as Good in all areas and noted that the academy’s work to keep pupils safe and secure is outstanding.
Educating our pupils in a state of the art building offers many advantages and our forest school area, huge field and mature trees also impress visitors to our site. We can accommodate up to 630 pupils, making us one of Bristol’s largest academies, however we constantly strive to create a ‘small school’ ethos so that we know each child as an individual.
St Ursula’s is a vibrant community where pupils and parents/carers take an active role in all aspects of academy life, whether it be sports day or the annual firework display organised by our pro-active PTFA. I believe that St Ursula’s is a unique academy that offers every child a happy, safe and fulfilling education. We are proud to be part of E-ACT multi-academy trust, and being part of a large group of academies brings many benefits. Visitors always comment on the behaviour of our pupils. Our children love learning and our teachers go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that lessons are interesting and engaging. The expectations of our pupils are sky high and they always rise to the challenge. Our most recent Ofsted report commented that, ‘all groups of pupils, including the most able, disadvantaged pupils, disabled pupils and those with special educational needs, achieve well’.
St Ursula’s is a Rights Respecting academy. This is a UNICEF programme that educates children about their human rights and also about children globally. We encourage our pupils to ‘act locally and think globally’. We have achieved level 1 of the programme and are very proud of this.
