Poole School Games Virtual Events - Term 1 Resources and Results

Each Term Sam Cox the Poole School Games Organiser will be running virtual events which schools can enter and compete in. The events will be a mix of participation and competition for all children to get involved with and keep active in their PE lessons, after school clubs or as a inter house / class event.

Poole School Games Virtual Events - Term 1 Resources and Results

Term 1 - Saw the launch of the Head Over Heels Gymnastics and Football Festivals events. Class teachers across alot of schools engaged with these events and used the packs to keep thier students active with COVID safe activities. The children really enjoyed the festivals as it allowed them to have that sense of belonging back to schools, competition and improving on their personal best not focused on the winning or loosing. Schools are still welcome to run these events in school and can be accessed below.

The Gymnastics pack can be downloaded here

The Football pack can be downloaded here

Term 1 - Also saw the first Inter School Virtual Competition of 2020/21, we started with the Virtual Pentathlon. Schools first chance to get their best athletes stuck into some high end competition again which has been sorely missed by so many staff and students.

Competitions were ran in Y3/4 and Y5/6 and we had entries from the following Schools; Baden Powell,  Bearwood, Bishop Aldhelms, Broadstone First, Canford Heath, Hamworthy, Lytchett, Oakdale, St Mary's.

Well done to all the athletes who competed and thank you to all the teachers and staff that supported with this event in your schools. I can congratulate the the winners of the Y3/4 Event - Bearwood Primary School and the winners of the Y5/6 Event Hamworthy Park Junior School.

Poole SGO Area

Welcome to Poole School Games, my name is Sam Cox. I'm based at Carter Community School. I have been working as a School Games Organiser for 6 years and grew up in the Poole area myself. I love my job and take pride in it every day. We are trying to achieve our mission of providing opportunities for all in Sport, PE and physical activity so that all students can enjoy and succeed. Here in Dorset the School Games Organiser team have developed some fun games, resources, challenges and video's to ensure that we can keep active and healthy during this time of Isolation. These are some great ways to contribute towards the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
