January 2022

I have blinked and suddenly it is January 2022! This is a long overdue update ...let's take a look at what has been happening so far this academic year and what is to come.

January 2022

It has already been a very busy year so far and we have lots planned for the months ahead.

Whist we have had slightly fewer face to face events than normal, we have had a fantastic Virtual Commonwealth Games Cup, and many events have simply been shifted to a later date...the calendar is going to be non-stop for the next 6 months. Next week we have Primary and SEND Swimming Galas plus some Orienteering at schools, taking place and I can't wait!

It is an exciting year with Birmingham hosting the Commonwealth Games in 2022 - we have lots of extra bits planned to celebrate and create a legacy, including our own mini baton relay. We have  a fabulous County Roadshow planned and some additional events *NEW* this year such as Secondary Girls Cricket and Wheelchair Basketball to celebrate the new addition to the Commonwealth Games this year!

The 60 Active Minutes agenda is more important than ever and it is great to see your schools getting back to some normality with PE, Physical activity and school sport. Do make use of all of the amazing resources available to you all from the School Games Website and the YST Active Recovery hub https://www.youthsporttrust.org/resources/coronavirus-support/active-recovery-hub

South Bucks SGO Area

The South Bucks SGO area and Sports Partnership is hosted by Alfriston School. Alfriston School is a special needs girl's school based in Beaconsfield. Alfriston is the Lead Inclusion School for Buckinghamshire and we believe in 'a sporting chance for every child'. We have a comprehensive calendar of School Games Inclusive competitions and festivals throughout the year and work with a number of County and community partners to bring about the best opportunities for staff and pupils in Bucks.
